Tru Urban Spa is new to the Alkali Flats Neighborhood. There are big changes in the works for the historic neighborhood and owners Kesha Ward and Regina Lightle wanted to be a part of it. The San Francisco natives were drawn to the rich architecture, cultural diversity of the area and the tree lined streets. Tru is nestled between Domino's Pizza and Relentless Tattoos. As soon as you open the door to Tru, your senses go into overdrive with the pleasantly aromatic blends of essential and perfume oils. Tru is developing a custom blending bar, allowing clients to make and scent their own body care products. The spa offers a Swedish, Prenatal, Therapeutic, Reflexology, Thai, Hot Stone Massage and Raindrop Therapy. The Esthetic services include holistic and vegan skincare as well as the traditional European facial techniques and slimming body wraps. The spa prides itself on being the "everyday woman's" spa, and they carry with them the grassroots approach to networking and marketing. Their prices reflect that. They create custom spa packages and treatments to fit just about every budget, and have made a pledge to donate $1 from EVERY treatment to a designated charity. In 2008, they will debut their wellness series, offering classes and workshops covering topics such as nutrition, meditation and stress reduction.
